Interests - bike riding and hiking, photography, music and theater. I'm fascinated with computers and things electronic but easily frustrated when things don't work right.

Most Beautiful Place I've Ever Been - Holden Village, a retreat center in Washington State.

Favorite Movie - "In America."

Car I Would Drive If Money Was No Object – I have it now! A 2005 Prius that gets good mileage and fits with my concerns about the environment and global warming.

Jim Friedrich - Senior Pastor

Pastor Jim has shepherded Prince of Peace for 10 years. Under his leadership, Prince of Peace has grown in numbers, in programs, and in spirit. Pastor Jim holds a Master's Degree in Divinity from Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago and also a Master's in Social Work from the University of Denver. He is an active member of the Saratoga Ministerial Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the Council of Churches in Santa Clara County.

Prior to Prince of Peace, Pastor Jim was the Area Director for Lutheran Social Services in San Jose for 16 years. In that role he oversaw many social service projects including family counseling services. This work has been helpful at Prince of Peace as this congregation values relationships and a strong commitment to service in the community.

Pastor Jim is "very eager to see this congregation grow in numbers and in the active involvement of people in living out their calling to be disciples. Church can be such an exciting place when people feel empowered and enthusiastic about what we can do together as God's people. I enjoy this congregation and the variety of people here and love coming to work most every day. (There are times when there are a lot of meetings scheduled--not so exciting, I have to admit)."

Pastor Jim is married to a "wonderful woman" who works as a middle-school counselor in the Berryessa School District. He also has two daughters. Amy was just married here at Prince of Peace and works in San Franciso. Ashley is attending Graduate School at San Diego State University where she is studying social work.
