Choir performances are an important part of music ministry.

The Prince of Peace band leads worship at the contemporary service Sunday mornings.

LadyeSong, a female vocal ensemble, performs routinely throughout the year.

Music

The music ministry at Prince of Peace is an integral part of our worship life. We have three active musical ensembles who rehearse and perform regularly. There are also a number of vocalists and instrumentalists from the community who contribute their musical talents from time to time. Throughout the year, special services will center around a particular musical genre such as jazz or bluegrass. These services are both fun and inspirational and are often held outside.

The Prince of Peace Choir

Lead by music director, Barbara Day Turner, who is the founder and conductor of the San Jose Chamber Orchestra. Barbara's energy, enthusiasm, and passion for giving God our best musically has been lifting the hearts of believers at Prince of Peace for many years. Barbara directs a choir of more than 30 SATB members. The choir's mastery of classical, modern, and genre-specific pieces leads to outstanding performances that are the envy of churches for miles around. With access to a deep talent pool at the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, the choir is often accompanied by professional musicians on various instruments.

The Prince of Peace Worship Band

The Prince of Peace worship band is composed with a variety of musicians, many of whom are active members of the congregation. It includes several vocalists, sax, bass, drums, acoustic guitar and keyboard. The emphasis is on upbeat, singable music that brings glory to God and creates an atmosphere of worship.

Senior High Worship Band

Rehearsals every Sunday night from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.

The Senior High Worship Band is open to all youth with an interest in sharing the spirit through music, regardless of skill level. They play once per month at either the 9:00 or both Worship services. The Sr. High Band plays both contemporary and traditional pieces.

LadyeSong

A ladies vocal ensemble, is lead by Mary Eliabeth Enmann whom we lovingly refer to as Mel. Mel is also the founder of Center for Wellness, located on the Church grounds, where students can receive individual voice lessons. Mel is a tremendous vocalist whose singing can both leave you weeping and shake the rafters - all in the same song. LadyeSong performances are soulful, spiritual, and harmonically complex at once. To hear them is to know that angles lend their voices to humans now and then. They are not to be missed!
