Fellowship

Softball

During the Summer Prince of Peace fields a team of church members and friends (the "Poppers") who play in a non-competitive, co-ed, adult softball league run by the Campbell Recreational department. For information, contact Anne Hess.

Tables for Eight

Do you enjoy mingling with your fellow congregants after service and wish that you could get to know each other better? In January we will be continuing the small group fellowship program that was designed to satisfy this wish – Tables for Eight. Tables for Eight is a rotating dinner / fellowship program in which groups of approximately eight people share a meal at each others' homes. The program runs from January through May, and you can participate in as many or as few dinners as you wish. Additional information and sign up sheets are available in the Peace Messenger, on the table in the Narthex. Signup sheets are usually available in the Narthex or by clicking here 2009 forms should be submitted by Sunday, December 14. All are welcome!

Men's Group

The Men's Group holds events during the year and an annual retreat, usually in the early Spring. Call 253-7167 to be added to the mailing list.

Women's Group

Please return registration forms with your deposit to Anne Hess in the office by September 1. Balance due the evening of arrival. If you choose the overnight option, all meals and linens are provided EXCEPT for pillows. Please bring your own pillow.

Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

By virtue of your membership at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church all women are members of W.E.L.C.A. (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America). We invite you to become an active member by joining a circle. These circles hold meetings once a month. Bible study, community service and fellowship are offered. Each circle rotates meeting in member's homes. Circles do not usually meet during the summer months. Contact the church office for the next meeting date and location.

Rebekah Circle

A small group of 12-15 women who gather for lunch to have a Christian discussion in member's homes. They are currently studying the parables of Jesus and how they relate to us.

Rebekah Circle meets on the 1st Monday at 11:45 a.m. - 2:30 pm. September to May. Contact Dawn Vogelsong for location.

Deborah Circle

An active group of women who meet monthly in member's homes. They raised $1000 for a variety of church projects and outside organizations through the sale of cookbooks. They are currently studying the Psalms.

Deborah Circle meets the 2nd Tuesday 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. September to May. Contact Betty lukas for location.

Weaver's Circle

The Weaver's circle is currently discussing the book "Listening for God". They collect dues to support WELCA, have an annual service project of supporting a family of Friends Outside at Christmas Time, as well as donating to the San Jose Family Shelter and supporting Maya Works every two years.

Weaver's Circle meets the 2nd Tuesday 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. Weavers always meets at the same location. Contact Dorothy Matson to RSVP.

NOW Circle

A dynamic group of women who meet for fellowship and short Bible based discussion. Members are a wide variety of ages. Twice per year the group goes out to dinner in local restaurants.

NOW Circle meets the 4th Monday 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. September - June

Music

Sanctuary Choir

Do you like to sing? Rehearsals are held Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome. Choir Director Barbara Day Turner accepts new members throughout the year. During the summer, the choir rehearses on Sundays at 9:45 before singing at the 10:30 service. Dates for Summer 2008 are June 8, 15, 22, July 20, August 17, 24. Everyone is invited to show up and sing!

Contemporary Praise Band

Can you play and instrument? Do you like to sing? Our Contemporary service Praise Band is comprised of volunteers. All are welcome! New members can join throughout the year. Contact the church office for more information.

Youth Praise Band

The band plays at one or both services at least one Sunday per month (usually the 3rd Sunday.) Rehearsals are held Sundays 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. from September through June. All are welcome. New members are accepted throughout the year. Contact Youth Director Christina Jacobson for more information.
